What Subtext Does
Subtext reads your YouTube subscription list to generate a career and personality read. We do not access your watch history, search history, liked videos, comments, or any other YouTube data.
What We Collect
When you connect your YouTube account, we collect the names of channels you subscribe to and the dates you subscribed to them. We collect your email address when you complete payment through Stripe.
How We Use Your Data
Your subscription data is used solely to generate your read. It is processed in real time and is not stored permanently after your read is generated. We do not sell your data, share it with third parties, or use it for advertising.
If you purchase a Subtext read, we collect the email address you provide during Stripe checkout and store it in our own database. We use this email to send you your receipt, respond to support requests, and — if you don't opt out — occasional updates about new features or product relaunches. We do not sell or share your email address with third parties for their own marketing purposes. You can unsubscribe from non-essential emails at any time.
Stripe
Payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your credit card information. Stripe's privacy policy governs payment data.
Google OAuth
We use Google OAuth to access your YouTube subscription data with read-only permission. We never post to YouTube, modify your account, or access anything beyond your subscription list.
Your Rights
You can revoke Subtext's access to your YouTube account at any time by visiting your Google account permissions at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
